I don't think there's a line of breederspeak in the world that pisses me off as much as the CF blather of "You should think about how you represent us/you make all the CF look bad" bullshit.

I don't represent childfreedom. I don't represent anyone else. I represent myself. It's your job, not mine, to represent yourselves, so get off your asses, quit whining, and speak for yourselves, you fucking snivelers. Quit expecting everyone else to do your work for you. YOU make YOURSELF look bad or good; it's your choice.

Death by overheated car

I try not to pay much attention to the daily goings-on of parenthood, but it seems like every day or every other day, I read about another baby dying from being left in a car on a hot day. It has seemed like this for several summers now.

Did this always happen with such frequency and it's only now become national news with every occasion? Or are these deaths happening more often? Is it that hard to remember a baby in a car seat? Are they that hard to see?

It's difficult for me to accept that these deaths are all accidents. I can't believe how many people have walked away with no charges or only minor charges. Even the law doesn't want to hold parents responsible for parenting any more.

It's weird, disturbing, and sad.

The Parents & Childfree board recently reopened "under new management" after imploding on itself a la Breeders Bite Back/Across the Fence.

We'll see what happens with these two boards.

If I sound skeptical, it's because I am. I don't think parents and CF can discuss their reproductive attitudes and lifestyle concerns for long without the discussion becoming contentious. Previous attempts at such discussion forums have only proven me right.

I don't understand this need to reach out to "the other side," anyway. Parents and CF have their own lives and concerns. I don't discuss my childfreedom with anybody and everybody, and I have zero interest in discussing childfreedom with parents. They don't get it, they don't want to get it, and that's how I feel about parenting as well.
