The funny thing is that the whole thing about Mall Etiquette wasn't even centered on kids. I did a listing about Starbuck's a couple of months before - http://spaces.msn.com/members/wellanyway/Blog/cns!1psnMM0mxlePWySNa4jMJWqA!172.entry - that also mentioned unattended kids and I got blasted in a comment there also. The blast was so nasty I actually deleted it.
This is the first time in years of blogging that I've been attacked in such a way. And for what? Referring to ill-behaved children as "it"? It's also the first time I've felt the need to be quite so mean back...I'm almost embarassed to be called a ranter :)
But you've inspired me. I'm now even more aware of this issue than ever before!

Thanks for posting the links. I read "Shopping Mall Etiquette" and laughed out loud--ESPECIALLY at the part about kids. And I have five of "them."
AND I have a niece that's five and HOOKED on Starbucks. She's a little addict. So I was laughing all the way through. I share the same annoyances when I go shopping, too.
