After all this time?

It's amazing how bent out of shape people still get if someone expresses childfree sentiments or thinks their parents would have been better off childfree.

Jacqueline Passey is as logical and non-inflammatory a fencesitter you'll find, and yet she's still been barbecued in comments for daring to suggest her mother might have been happier with no children.

God forbid she should question what pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood does to women.

For some stupid reason, I thought that by now, people would be over this a bit, that the whole childfree thing wouldn't make them spaz out so much. Silly me, giving humans credit like that. I should know better.

Summertime is screaming-kid time

There they were, out by the pool, yelling and screeching and doing that which kids do (being annoying as all fuck). My exposure to them was brief, as I was taking a walk in the area and not spending time by the pool itself.

The pool is located very close to some housing units. I feel very sorry for the people who live there. Summer must be hell for them, and not because of the heat.

I gave up on public pools long ago because of the out-of-control kid factor. Public pools are like Chuck E. Cheese. Give me a river, lake, or ocean instead.
