The hair place doesn't love kids

The place I go to get my hair buzzed off has this sign on the door:

CHILDREN WELCOME BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

If only the entire world operated that way, and not just the hair place.

I've long thought that such a sign should be posted in New York. :)

I have seen those signs posted in beauty shops for several years now. It's about time. The last thing I want to be bothered with while getting my hair done is to hear screeching kids. Getting my hair done is supposed to be a peaceful experience.

If the entire world operated that way, I'd be a happier person. I'm so sick of all the entitled soccer moms who let their feral children run amok inside Target or any other public place during the hours that hubby is at work. Who do they think they are? They have this idea that their doing the most important job in the world while shopping for discount items (they're on a budget you know) and letting strangers babysit, smile & coo. The idea that I should tolerate the screaming & running because "children are the future" really pisses me off. They might be your future, but mine requires more quite time. What's so damn hard or important about that? You make your poor spouse financially support your outings with your spawn? You justify your lack of work ethic by "deciding to stay at home". I'm just so over it!
As a hairstylist, I never encourage children in the salon. It's so disrespectful to the other clients who have arranged childcare so that they might have a little peace while they have their hair styled.
